The Friends of the Waterfront (FOTW) will honor Arthur H. Keeney Ophthalmic Fund Charitable Trust and Louisville Metro Police Department for its work to keep Waterfront Park accessible and safe for the community at its 22nd annual Silver Anchor Award Celebration
The Arthur H. Keeney Ophthalmic Fund Charitable Trust has provided funding for Waterfront Development Corporation to develop and implement a Braille signage program that has been installed throughout Waterfront Park. These Braille signs include park maps and signage describing features of the Park, including the Belle of Louisville, the Big Four Bridge, the Lincoln Memorial and the Flock of Finns. The Louisville Metro Police Department, under the leadership of Chief Steve Conrad, partners with Waterfront Development to keep Waterfront Park a safe place for families to gather.
The Silver Anchor Award reception begins at 5:30 p.m. and will feature music by Whiskey Bent Valley Boys, hors d’oeuvres by Mirabelle Catering, cocktails, and a silent auction. The awards ceremony will begin at 6 p.m.
