Bella Manningham (played by Jennifer Poliskie) is very convincing as a vulnerable, panicky, young wife who seems to be losing her mind as Jack Manningham (played by Michael Jester) her murder-minded, thieving, nefarious spouse connives to not only drive her crazy, with the help of his maid Nancy (Morgan Schussler-Williams) who he has been having an affair with, insist Bella that needs institutionalization and that she is the product of her mother’s insanity.

The twist to the story Gaslight, a made for TV movie from the 1940’s that starred famous stars as Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer and Angela Lansbury, is caught up in the fact that Manningham is roaming the house searching for the Barlow Rubies that he'd the previous owner of the house, Alice Barlow, a woman Manningham, aka Sydney Power, had also murdered. A detective, Inspector Rough (Larry Chaney) with a curious, speculating, yet trusting air about them, that Bella and the maid Elizabeth (Carolyn Holbrook) seem to cling to has worked on the Barlow case and seen Manningham on the streets carousing with a few women…he is known to be unfaithful to Bella, and recognizes him as Powers.  Manningham begins to catch on but not before the team of Bella, Elizabeth and Inspector Rough cook up a plan to capture the wicked, murdering, crook and he is put where he belongs…and the Barlow Rubies have been right under his nose the whole time, in a gift he gave Bella.

The play moves from one scene to the next smoothly and keeps your attention. It is strong in production and technical skill and the execution of the performance is flawless. This was a great performance and I encourage anyone who loves a suspense or drama to go see it.

Angel Street is under the Direction of Gary Tipton and Production of Sandy Richens Cohrs.  It is produced by Special Arrangement with Samuel French

    Performance dates are February 17, 19 @ 8: pm and February 18 @ 2:30 pm
