Yelp Louisville and New2Lou teamed up together this past year and created a fantastic endeavor, called The Louisville Bucket List. They’ve taken participants on a vast number of Louisville-based, themed adventures including past events such as writing on the “Before I Die” Wall at the Local Speed, taking a cruise on the Belle of Louisville, attending a Louisville Bats game, being a kid again at the Kentucky Science Center and taking a historical downtown Louisville walking tour. This fall, they continue the fun with several more Louisville Bucket List experiences. But first, what did Louisvillians who took their survey about what they consider are their Top 10 Bucket List items for the city, say were Numbers 1-10.

After 450 votes, here is what they found:

    1.Stay at 21c Museum Hotel

2.Walk across the Big Four Bridge

3.Travel down the river on the Belle of Louisville

    4.Attend the Kentucky Derby

5.Go to the Louisville Slugger Museum

6.Watch a race at Churchill Downs

    7.Attend Forecastle

8.Go to destinations on the Urban Bourbon Trail

    9.Attend a Louisville Bats game

Other items of interest were “eat chicken on The Colonel's grave and hold a séance over Colonel Sanders’ grave in Cave Hill Cemetery, party on a UPS jet, meet Muhammad Ali, mistake Jim James for an angel among men, and go on a pirate-themed trolley brewery tour of Louisville. Find more about the Bucket List voting here.

This fall, join Yelp Louisville and New2Lou for the second round of Yelp Louisville’s Bucket List. The remaining dates and experiences include:

THIS Friday, August 29: Walk in the Louisville Zombie Attack and get a free zombie makeover. This is the 10th year for the Louisville Zombie Attack, the largest and oldest annual zombie walk in the world, and this event will help people get in the undead state of mind.

September 11: Learn about bourbon at the Evan Williams Bourbon Experience. One hour of this free event will include a tasting and Bourbon 101 in the attraction’s speakeasy space with Bernie Lubbers, whiskey ambassador for Heaven Hill Distilleries. The second hour will include a tour of the Bourbon Experience.

September 20: Get a “Paddock Experience” at Churchill Downs. You may have been to Churchill Downs before, but this exclusive opportunity will give you some Churchill Downs behind-the-scenes and an up-close view of a race.

September 30: Experience the “Art of Drink” at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft. Guests are invited to toast with Falls City Beer and participate in other beer-themed activities while taking in the museum’s newest exhibit.

October 9: Go on a pizza crawl of Bardstown Road. The Thirsty Pedaler will help Bucket Listers hop from one pizza place to the next.
