Y-NOW, the mentoring division of the YMCA Safe Place Services is currently seeking six caring, responsible, mature adults to work with teens on the brink of success from Western and Liberty High Schools. Studies have shown that youth who participate in mentoring programs are more likely to become involved with positive community activities during and after their time in a mentoring program. This is an excellent opportunity for adults to sp/files/storyimages/time each week making an impact on the lives of the future of our community.
Y-NOW combines character development & social interaction skills in a unique, intense residential course (camp) where adults create a safe environment in which the youth learn, grow, & change. The intensive residential is followed by twelve months of aftercare sessions and one-on-one adult mentoring which connects the youth to adults and their community, and where the youth receive support in realizing their potential.
With camp already over and the program underway, Y-NOW is still seeking six adults who can meet with a youth once a week for a full year. No experience is necessary and training will be provided. Please call today if you are interested.
