LOUISVILLE, Ky. (July 13, 2010) ---Continuing his yearly tradition of celebrating the tomato harvest, chef John Castro of Winston’s restaurant will present four heirloom tomato dinners during the first two weekends of August. Featuring a variety of tomatoes from local producers, each seven-course dinner will include a tasting and discussion of “naked” tomatoes that will educate the palate on the iconic summer flavors. The dinners take place on August 6, 7, 13 and 14 at 6:30 p.m. The price is $75 per person, or $100 with wine pairings. For reservations, call (502) 456-0980.

Winston’s Restaurant at Sullivan University is the final preparation for culinary students of the University’s National Center for Hospitality Studies (NCHS) before they graduate and step out as professionals in the industry. Winston’s is a member of the American Culinary Federation, Kentucky Restaurant Association, Louisville Originals, Chaine des Rotisseurs and has received many highly-acclaimed awards for its service, wine selection and elegant cuisine. The NCHS prepares students for careers in the hospitality field by offering six Associate of Science (A.S.) degrees and a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree. Students can earn an Associate of Science degree in Culinary Arts; Baking and Pastry Arts; Beverage Management; Professional Catering; Hotel and Restaurant Management and Event Management and Tourism; and a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality Management.
