If you are a fan of Wiltshire Pantry catering and the delicious Wiltshire on Market, you'll be beside yourself to know that there is a new sister in town.
Wiltshire Bakery and Cafe opened on May 16th at what was formerly the popular Germantown sandwich shop Joe Davola's. Sporting a newly revamped interior and exterior, 901 Barrett is now home to the third in the Wiltshire business offerings. The bakery offers a dangerously tempting variety of croissants, doughnuts, artisan breads, and muffins. You can also come in for lunch for alluring options like chicken salad on brioche, marinated medium rare roast beef on focaccia, and a Wiltshire reuben.
As I ogled some particularly attractive cinnamon doughnuts I remarked to a staff member that working there would require a level a gastronomic discipline I didn't have. She smiled and responded, "I drink a lot of water." Louisville resident Emi Ramirez popped in for a ham and cheese croissant after seeing a post shared from their Facebook page.
The ham and cheese croissant I ate was on point...I'm happy to have a local and tasty alternative for days I don't pack a lunch. I may start accidentally forgetting my lunch at home.
Wiltshire Bakery and Cafe is open Tuesday thru Friday from 7 am to 3 pm, Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm. Sunday hours are to be announced and they are closed Mondays.
