Designed for advanced watercolorists, this class explores classical and contemporary water-based techniques for paper and other surfaces. You’ll advance your skills of your work using direct painting methods, monoprinting, and texturing using objects other than brushes, called experimental watercolor. All sessions feature demonstrations and studio time for improving the quality of your work using a unique, fantastic medium. You’ll explore wax resistance; compare watercolor liquid and polymers, gouache and tempera; and discover how to depict stone, wood and other organic objects. Don’t miss this valuable opportunity to add depth and vibrancy to your creations and further develop your artistic style. Experience in watercolor is required. Drawing skills are useful but not required. Please bring your supplies to each session. Class size is limited to 10 students.
