After 20 years of importing and distributing wines from around the globe, Vintner Select has expanded to Oregon wines. To celebrate in Louisville, Vintner Select has partnered with Lilly’s for a one-night-only family-style dinner featuring representatives from five of Oregon’s finest wineries on Friday, Nov. 6. The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a grand tasting where guests can sample wines from all five wineries. Afterwards, chef Kathy Cary and her culinary team will present five courses featuring fresh and local produce. A representative or winemaker sitting at the table will pair two carefully selected wines from their portfolio to perfectly complement the dish. Guests will be able to engage in lively discussion about the making of wine while tasting from that specific Oregon winery. At the end of each course, the winemakers will rotate seats to give individual attention to the next table. Due to the intimate nature of the event, seating is very limited and reservations are required. The cost of the evening is $85, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations can be made by calling (502) 451-0447.
The winemakers for this special event are:
Andrew Rich, Andrew Rich Wines
Although Andrew Rich says his first love is Syrah, particularly from the northern Rhône, he went overseas to receive his oenology and viticulture training in France. After receiving his degree, he followed his heart to the cellar at Bonny Doon, then the biggest producer of Rhône wines in the U.S. During his tenure, he was asked to move to distilling. "The experience was invaluable," he says of working with the maker of such charismatic American Rhône translations as Le Cigare Volant and Old Telegram. The two clearly shared the same venturesome spirit and profound affection for Rhône varietals. In 1994, he moved to Oregon, a place he'd first visited six years earlier to volunteer at the International Pinot Noir Festival. One year later, he launched his own label, crafting small lots of the Rhône-style wines he loved. Andrew Rich produces wine in the state-of-the-art Carlton Winemakers Studio, the nation's first "green" cooperative winemaking facility. The facility is home to several respected Oregon wine producers including: Hamacher Wines, Andrew Rich Wines, Bryce Vineyard, Domaine Meriwether, Dominio, Penner-Ash Wine Cellars and Soter Vineyard. John Grochau, Grochau Cellars
Located in Portland, Ore., Grochau Cellars is the project and passion of John Grochau and his wife, Kerri. He has been fortunate to learn the trade from some of Willamette Valley’s finest winemakers. From the pioneering cellars and large-scale work of Erath Winery to four years as Doug Tunnel’s assistant at the esteemed Brick House Wines, Grochau has logged the numerous hours of careful attention, expert advice and forklift skills necessary to create world-class wines. Pam Walden, Daedalus Cellars.
Daedalus Cellars (DAY-de-lus) is a small, family-owned and operated winery located in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The small, family-owned and operated winery sources from some of the state's best vineyards and handles the fruit minimally and carefully to create balanced wines with complex fruit and elegant structure. Daedalus produces small amounts of Pinot Gris, Syrah, Riesling, Chardonnay and Grüner Veltliner, but has true passion for Pinot Noir. For more information visit www.daedaluscellars.com.
Trish Rogers, R Stuart & Co
After making wine for other people for more than twenty years, Rob Stuart and his partners founded R. Stuart & Co. in early 2002. With a degree in biochemistry from Rensselear Polytechnic Institute in New York, and a short but eye-opening career in the labs at Baylor University in Texas, Rob started his winemaking journey on the bottling line at Hans Kornell in Napa, California. From there he went on to work in the cellar at Valley View Vineyards and then on to Stanton Hills in Yakima, Washington where he made wine for ten years. Finally Rob managed to return to Oregon in 1994 when he became the winemaker at Erath Vineyards, his home away from home until he started his current adventure. Now he makes the wines he loves: Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, and Sparkling wine. For more information visit www.rstuartandco.com.

Since graduating from Oregon State University with a degree in Agriculture Resource and Economics, Bruce has developed over 140 vineyard operations in 13 counties within Oregon.
