    Bit to Do

If Saturday's rain forecast has you looking for an indoor outing, Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church, 142 Crescent Ave., has a delightful event in store with its third annual Upscale Plant Sale, Tea, and Art Sale (UPSTARTS).

Saturday, April 24th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. come enjoy a proper English cream tea.  The tea room menu includes traditional tea sandwiches, a variety of English teas, lemonade for the non-tea drinker, and homemade English scones with jam and clotted cream.

Then, browse the work of local artists, including original jewelry designs by Jewelry by Carla.  Among the artists, Louisville writer and author (and my friend), Beverly Bartlett, will be at UPSTARTS to sign her books.

And, don't forget to visit the UPSTARTS garden section, where some plants are donations from church members' own gardens and others from Thieneman's Herbs.  While you may find a few houseplants and annuals, the majority of plants will be perennials and tasty herbs.

Come as you are, bring the kids, and enjoy a lovely Saturday with tea, plants, and local art.

Funds raised from UPSTARTS supports Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church's youth summer trips to Triennium and Eastern Kentucky.
