Colours 2013 is an event celebrating the Indian Festival of Holi, also known as the Festival of Colours. In India, Holi began as a festival to celebrate good harvests, as well as fertile land. The celebrations begin on the day afte
r the full moon in March every year. Thousands of people dressed in all white, both young and old, take over the street corners throwing rainbows of powdered colour and water all over each other.
It is a time of celebration where castes, gender, age, and status are forgotten, and the idea of togetherness and commonality are strongly recognized.
So come on out with friends and enjoy! Make sure you wear white clothes or clothes you don't mind getting dirty, as well as shoes that you don't care too much about! Bring waterguns and water balloons and get ready to eat yummy food, listen to great music, and of course throw some COLOURS!
