WATCH A VIRTUAL TOUR OF THE TORNADO
You won't want to miss the chance to ride TORNADO - THE ULTIMATE STORM at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom this summer. It's our biggest expansion in Hurricane Bay Water Park since 1998. Extreme tubing debuts over Memorial Day Week/files/storyimages/when we introduce the Water Park's enormous new thrill slide. Resembling a giant checkerboard funnel turned on its side, Tornado promises to become one of the most popular rides in the Midwest. Riders begin their wild, wet journey 75-feet in the air by blasting down a 132-foot long tunnel, leading to a mammoth, open-ended funnel. The ride's specially designed 4-person cloverleaf shaped tubes hug the inside of the funnel, splashing back and forth on 5,000 gallons of swirling water. The exciting experience culminates as riders are sent through the eye of the storm ending in a cool catch pool below.
Tornado's enormous size and unique shape has garnered numerous awards and distinctions, including the amusement industry's 2003 Golden Ticket Award For Best Water Park Ride and the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions' 2003 Best New Product Award in the Water Park Category. Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom opens Saturday, April 2, 2005. Daily operations begin May 26 through August 15, 2005.
