TARC will provide lightning-fast express service from the Fairgrounds to downtown for Thunder Over Louisville on Saturday, April 22. This year, buses will have a dedicated route to 2nd and Main Streets, allowing TARC to provide quick, congestion-free service in and out of downtown. TARC buses will load at Lot H at the Fairgrounds beginning at 12:30 p.m. Thunder day and will shuttle continuously throughout the day until 8 p.m.. Return trips will board at 2nd and Main Streets, in front of the Marriott Inn, immediately following Thunder. Shuttles will continue until 11 p.m., or until all return trips are boarded. The fare is $3 round trip, plus the Fairgrounds’ $5 parking charge (per carload.) Children 5 and under are free. Tickets will be sold only at the Fairgrounds on the day of the event. Lightening express riders will be allowed to carry coolers and strollers on the bus, provided they can be fastened down or stowed under seats. The following items are prohibited at Thunder Over Louisville and will not be allowed on the bus: tents, weapons, alcohol, cans, glass bottles or glass containers, pets, bikes, skates and skateboards. All TARC coaches are wheelchair accessible. TARC will also have its usual special Thunder service, with additional buses on 13 routes that provide regularly scheduled service into downtown. However, these buses will drive with regular traffic, so delays are possible. The routes are: #2-Second Street (to River Falls Mall in Clarksville, Indiana). Following the fireworks, TARC buses will provide continuous service from downtown Louisville until all passengers have been accommodated. | |
