Another weekend, another Top 15 finish for Justin Thomas.

The Louisville native, and PGA Tour rookie, tied for 12th-place at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, which ended Sunday, at TPC Louisiana in Avondale, La.

The St. Xavier High School graduate carded a collective 16-under-par 272, which put him in a tie with nine others.

Justin Rose won the event with a 22-under 266.

It was Thomas’ sixth Top 15 finish (in 17 events) of the season and his second in a row after he tied for 11th place at the RBC Heritage. The finish raised the earnings of the 21-year-old, who turns 22 Wednesday, to $1,0929,517 in his first full season on the PGA Tour.

Thomas, who was a state champion with the Tigers and helped the University of Alabama to the NCAA title before turning pro in 2013, shot 68-66-72-66.

He shot 4-under-par in the first round, carding five birdies and one bogey on Thursday.

The next day Thomas shot 6-under with a round that included one eagle, six birdies and two bogeys.

Saturday, though, he shot himself out of contention with an even-par round that included four birdies, two bogeys and one double-bogey.

Thomas, however, bounced back with a very good final round of 6-under, shooting 34-32. He parred the first hole, then birdied the par-5 second hole for the third time of the weekend. Thomas parred the subsequent four holes before birdieing the par-5 seventh, which he had eagled Friday and birdied Thursday, and parring the eighth and ninth.

Thomas blistered the back nine. He began it with a trio of birdies on holes 10-12, which he had played in 1-over par in the first three rounds. Thomas then parred the next five holes before finishing up the tournament with a birdie on the par-5 18th.

Thomas led the tourney in par-5 scoring - averaging 4.19 strokes thanks to one eagle, 11 birdies and four pars. He also finished third in longest drive (340 yards) and fifth in driving distance (302.4) and strokes gained tee to green (7.488).

Thomas currently ranks 40th in the FedExCup Rankings and 85th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
