Since the restoration of the Shaker community at Pleasant Hill began in 1961, 34 buildings have undergone extensive restoration and almost 3,000 acres of land have been preserved. Susan Lyons Hughes, manager for museum programs and special events, will discuss the obstacles faced during the early preservation efforts and the challenges of completing a mature project today. $18 for KHS members and $23 for all other patrons.
