Praise and worship bands from seven area churches will bring their exuberant message to 4th Street Live on Sunday, September 9th from 1 – 8 PM in a unique event designed to bridge the gap between believers and non-believers through music made for a higher power.

The concert is part of the monthly Takin’ It to the Streets series which began in June, and will be filmed for a series of twenty-one Saturday evening broadcasts this fall on the CW Network (WBKI-TV). The concert is free and open to the public, but a donation of seven canned goods will be welcome and will be distributed to area church food banks.

Featured bands are The Vine (1 PM), Sojourn (2 PM), and bands from Northside Christian (3 PM), Lifepointe Church (4 PM), Springdale Community Church (5 PM), Valley View Church (6 PM), and Southeast Christian Church (7 PM).

Takin’ It to the Streets co-founder and concert organizer Mark Maxwell is excited about the positive reception the series has received so far, as well as the ability to present these bands outside of their usual church walls.

“This is a chance for our churches to connect to our communities – and to each other – through music," he said.

The event is sponsored by MOM’s Music, WJIE 88.5 FM, the Yamaha musical instrument corporation, Hurt Printing, Darkhorse Creative, the YMCA of Southern Indiana, and RedGiant Advertising.
