Do you have a sweet tooth? Or perhaps, like so many of us who are confection obsessed, a whole set of sweet teeth are keenly awaiting the next scrumptious morsel.  As the Holiday season looms its snowy head, the wild call of the Tasty Treat resonates in our eager bellies; now would be a good time to warm up the old oven…

Let the fondant fly!  Your Holiday hearth is about to get frosted.  Buddy Valastro, star of TLC’s smash hit reality show, Cake Boss, presents his latest culinary look book, Baking with the Cake Boss: 100 of Buddy’s Best Recipes and Decorating Secrets.  Following the success of his first book, Cake Boss: Stories and Recipes from Mia Famiglia, the out-spoken, cake-slinging baker from New Jersey unveils a new volume of famous (or maybe infamous) recipes and tips.  Buddy’s Baking with the Cake Boss covers everything from baking basics like kneading and rolling, to towering flower-adored confections.  Peppered with tips, how-to boxes and Buddy’s own tricks of the trade, Baking with the Cake Boss steps readers through 650 step-by-step instructional photos of cookies, pastries, pies and cakes straight from Carlo’s Bake Shop.  Call it Buddy’s own baking bedazzlement boot-camp.

Buddy Valastro, an accomplished fourth-generation baker, will bring his worldwide culinary phenomenon to Carmichaels’ Frankfort Avenue location tomorrow, November 5th, at 12pm.  On hand with his big personality and a pen, Buddy will sign copies of Baking with the Cake Boss for hungry fans.  Those who donate $1 to the Make-a-Wish Foundation will be entered to win an autographed copy of Baking with the Cake Boss and two tickets to Buddy’s sold out show at the Louisville Palace, tomorrow evening at 7:30pm.  Hopefuls can find Make-a-Wish stars at both Carmichael’s locations.  Copies of Baking with the Cake Boss are available at Carmichael’s in hardcover for $30; Buddy’s previous book, Cake Boss: Stories and Recipes from Mia Famiglia is also offered in hardcover for $25.99.

Sugary sweet and good to eat!  Satisfy those sweet teeth and get your cake on with Buddy at Carmichael’s (although I prefer pie).

Carmichael’s Bookstore has two area locations                           1295 Bardstown Road and 2720 Frankfort Avenue

    About Erin Day

I'm a Louisville native who transplanted home from Las Vegas recently. Don't ask. In my spare time I read a lot of books and drink gin. My soulmate is my 1994 turquoise Ford Ranger - they never made a finer truck. I still totally believe in the Loch Ness Monster. I just want to write for you.
