U of L Alumni Association to host the "Sea of Red" Tailgate and Pep Rally at Lexington's Red Mile prior to the UK game this Sunday.
U of L will host a pre-game gathering for all fans traveling to Lexington at The Red Mile Race Track (1200 Red Mile Rd.). Gate 1 of the Red Mile facility will open at 10:00 a.m. to accommodate open tailgating. Parking at the Red Mile is free. The Alumni Association tent will open at 11:00 a.m. with the Pep Rally beginning at 12:30 p.m. U of L President James Ramsey, the Cardinal Bird, cheerleaders, and Marching Band will be in attendance.
Admission to the Alumni Association tent is $40.00 and is open to all U of L supporters. Price includes a catered traditional tailgate menu, a hosted bar, and live music! Reservations must be in to the Office of the Alumni Association by Friday, September 2 at 4:30 p.m. to guarantee a spot. Only a limited number of walk-ups will be allowed.
The Red Mile is located approximately 1 mile from Commonwealth Stadium. Shuttle arrangements are coordinated through the Red Mile Track and the Lexington Transit Authority (LexTran). Round trip fare for the shuttle is $2.50 per person. Walking distance is 0.75 miles. Groups traveling on buses will have available parking at the track, but must request Commonwealth Stadium passes from the University of Kentucky to park near stadium. Additional non-reserved parking on the campus of UK is located in Parking Structure 3, which is adjacent to the Kentucky Clinic (off Virginia Avenue) on South Limestone. On Sunday, all non-medical use parking located north of Cooper Drive is non-reserved and available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

From North and South: Take I-75 to Lexington. Exit at #113 (US 68/Paris Pike). Turn off the exit Ramp onto Paris Pike heading toward Lexington. Follow Paris Pike for approximately five miles. Paris Pike turns into Broadway; follow it through downtown. Turn right onto Red Mile Road. Turn right into the first Red Mile entrance.
From East and West: Take I-65 to Lexington. I-64 will merge with I-75. Exit at #113 (US 68/Paris Pike). Turn off the exit Ramp onto Paris Pike heading toward Lexington. Follow Paris Pike for approximately five miles. Paris Pike turns into Broadway; follow it through downtown. Turn right onto Red Mile Road. Turn right into the first Red Mile entrance.
From the Airport: Turn left from the airport parking lot onto Man O' War Blvd. Turn right onto Versailles Road. Go approximately three miles. Turn right onto Red Mile Road. (Lee's Famous Recipe is on the corner). Turn left into the third Red Mile entrance.
From Blue Grass Parkway: Blue Grass Parkway ends at Versailles Road. After exiting the off ramp, continue on Versailles Road for approximately four to five miles. Turn right onto Red Mile Road. (Lee's Famous Recipe is on the corner). Turn left into the third Red Mile entrance.
