For the fifth year in a row, The Summit will host its “Lights Up” event on Friday, Nov. 19 from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The annual event, which is free to attend, has become a popular holiday tradition for families all over Louisville. The holiday lighting ceremony will be emceed by local TV personality Barry Bernson and will feature live holiday entertainment presented by Northeast Christian Church and activities for the family including the Bubble Truck and a fireworks display. Santa Claus will make his grand entrance at approximately 7 p.m. in an antique fire truck and will be available for complimentary professional photos with families and children between Mitchell’s Fish Market and Martini Italian Bistro. Patrons are urged to arrive early and enter from the Springdale Rd. entrance near the GAP for easier parking.

“Lights Up at The Summit has become a mainstay in the way Louisvillians ring in the holiday season,” said Becky Norton, general manager of The Summit. “We look forward to the event every year and cherish the opportunity to celebrate with the community.”

Now through Nov. 14, children 10 years and younger can register to win the starring role at The Summit’s “Lights Up” event. One lucky child will be selected to turn on the holiday lights and kick-of the fireworks display with Santa. The winner will also receive a special holiday entertainment package and a gift card to The Summit. Parents can register their children at The Summit locations of Build A Bear Workshop, Gymboree, Children’s Place or Rabbit in the Moon. The drawing will be held on Nov. 15 and the winner will be notified the same day.
