This year, the Kentucky Proud Incredible Food Show on Oct. 23 and 24 will feature the first Kids Craft Café at the Sullivan University Early Childhood Education Booth. The new Kids Craft Café will feature Sullivan staff and students assisting children with hands-on activities involving food. Items like toast, Kool Aid and decorative dough will be used in crafts, and the Kentucky Proud Great Pumpkin Patch will offer pumpkins for painting. Painted Toast

Children will be able to paint a slice of bread using colored milk and then toast it to see the artwork come to life. Eating art is allowed.
11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
Tasty Lips
Felisha Hunter and Ashley Richardson, Coordinators
Children will make their own custom lip balm using basic ingredients like Crisco Shortening and Kool Aid. Color and Flavor will depend on the Kool Aid that they choose. Each child will take their lip balm creation home.

Choose a pumpkin and paint your favorite design.
3:30 – 5:00 p.m.
Clay Dough Designs

Children will work with dough made from salt, flour and water to make their own creative designs.

Colored Eggshell Mosaics

Mosaic is the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. We will use colored egg shells.

Coffee Art

Draw a picture with glue and then sprinkle on some yummy smelling recycled coffee granules to make recycled art.

Cinnamon Ornaments

See what happens when you mix applesauce and cinnamon, roll it out and cut out a shape - you get a great smelling ornament to take home.
Sullivan University’s Early Childhood Education Associate of Science Degree includes focused skills in business administration, small business management, child care, and employee supervision. The skills acquired in this program prepare the student to advance into a management position in a child care establishment or to open and manage their own child care facility.
