A visit to the 2008 Kentucky State Fair, August 14-24, will be easier on the wallets of fairgoers who buy their tickets online.

Advance general admission tickets and Thrillway ride tickets are available at www.kystatefair.org at a discounted rate. Online, adult tickets are priced at $5, while tickets for children ages 3-12 and seniors 55 and over are $2. A set of 22 Thrillway tickets, which can be used for traditional midway rides and various attractions at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, can also be purchased on the Web site for the reduced price of $14.

Patrons can save up to 50% by purchasing these tickets in advance, as the costs of general admission and Thrillway ride tickets will increase on opening day of the fair. At the gate, patrons can expect to pay $8 for an adult ticket and $4 for both seniors and children under 13. A strip of 22 Thrillway ride tickets will be sold for $20.

Although fairgoers can save time and gasoline by purchasing their tickets online, those who would like to purchase their tickets in advance but do not wish to do so online, can purchase them at any Kroger store beginning July 6. The discounted rate will be available until midnight August 13 for patrons who purchase their tickets in this way.
