As we begin to get into the colder months the sports community begins to look towards winter sports- which means one thing in the commonwealth of Kentucky- basketball.
Now, I was born and bred in Kentucky so without question I’m obsessed with hoops myself however, we can’t neglect the ice sports. You know those athletic contests that generally come from that far away land that scientists believe is called Canada.
In any case for those kinds of events local ice rink Iceland fits the bill quite nicely and has for years now as such that establishment is the focus of today’s sports landmark legend.
Located on UPS drive, I can’t help but remember my sister taking her share of ice-skating classes at the facility. She actually got pretty good at it, as for me I’m more the guy you see trying to drag myself down the ice.
I used to watch the hockey teams there and know that that was a far away dream for myself, seeing as how on more than one occasion I brought down several other skaters like dominoes as I fell to the ice. To this day I wish I could play hockey, I’m completely serious.
Alas, it was my destiny to never glide upon the frozen water or dance atop the crystallized liquid rather my destiny was to write nonsensical ramblings about not being able to ice-skate.
Back to the facility though, this year it will continue on its quest to bring family fun to people all over the area. Offering public and figure skating as well as the aforementioned hockey and a number of other opportunities that can be viewed at their website Iceland has made a name for itself as a quality establishment for family fun.
Assuming of course you stay away from me on the ice because there’s no doubt I’m knocking some folks down.
