Friends For Michael Spinal Cord Injury Organization will be sharing a booth at the Carl Casper Car Show Bremm Vinyl Graphics (BVG).
Bob Bremm, owner and operator of BVG is also a paraplegic
S&S Powersports of Clarksville, IN and Scott Hall Imports of Louisville, KY have donated a $1500 Scooter to Friends For Michael to use in a raffle, that also includes a 2004 UofL Liberty Bowl Champion Football Team. These items and more will be raffled off throughout the week/files/storyimages/and given away at the /files/storyimages/of the show on Sunday.

What is Friends For Michael?
Friends For Michael, Inc. is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) volunteer based organization, located in Henry County, KY that raises funds for spinal cord injury research, grants for SCI survivors, educational awareness & prevention, and college scholarships for locally active high school students.The group was founded in 1997 due to the car accident of 18 yr. old Michael Brent, well known in the community for his academic and athletic talents.In January 2001, FFM set up an endowment with the Kentucky Spinal Cord Research Center at the University of Louisville, donating over $38,0000 to date.In 2002 FFM joined with the Kentucky Wheelchair Athletic Association and Derby City NSCIA to form the very first Spinal Cord Injury Association of Kentucky (SCIAK).A dream come true for President and founder, Cindy Norton, who is also president of SCIAK. FFM sponsors several fundraising events as well as awareness and prevention activities. Their annual Sponsor/Volunteer Appreciation Dinner has brought in several celebrities such as Hall of Fame Coach Denny Crum, Miss America Heather French Henry, 2003 Ms. Wheelchair KY Missy Jenkins, former UofL Football Coach John L. Smith, Olympian Medalist Dr. Doug Sharp, Nationally renowned researcher Dr. Scott Whittemore, Extreme Athlete Mark Wellman, former IRL Driver, now owner, Sam Schmidt and more.
In May 2004, Michael, who received UK’s Adelstein Award, given to students with disabilities who are inspirations to others,graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s in Broadcast Journalism.He returned in the fall of 2004 to pursue his Masters.Michael writes for the Kentucky Kernel and is a respected member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. “As a fraternity brother of Mike’s, I can vouch for his character, and I struggle to find a weakness. Even when things aren't going his way, he never gets down; rather, he accepts the challenges and meets them head on,”commented Pi Kappa Phi’s president Daniel Kelly.
In August of 2004 Dr. Whittemore,announced the Friends For Michael, Inc. Postdoctoral Fellowship.A research position at KSCRC at UofL Medical School has been named in honor of Friends For Michael.
Friends For Michael and the Covenant United Methodist Church Youth Group from LaGrange KY used their muscles when joining together to complete a project for 13 year old Kasey Beggs in Smithfield, KY.Withrow Construction and Pearce Brothers Concrete provided time, labor and materials to make this project complete.
