Local group, Southern Sirens, has been making quite a name for themselves. With a multi-state fall tour coming up in October and two big shows on the horizon, these ladies should be on your watch list.
Southern Sirens is comprised of violinist Anna Blanton, percussion expert Kelsey Lee, and former American Idol contestant Emmy Bodner. The band formed in December 2013, and has been very successful in just a short period of time. Southern Sirens were selected as a top 70 act for ABC's Rising Star Season 1 and as a top 100 semi-finalist for Pepsi's Southern Original Competition, and they finished 2nd place in the KICK 102.9 Country Showdown just last month.
In just a few short weeks, Southern Sirens will open for both Carlene Carter and Bruno Mars in back-to-back concerts. Carlene Carter is performing at the Mercury Ballroom on September 19, and Bruno Mars will be performing at the Muhammad Ali Center for Congo 14 on September 20.
