Let author Lynn Renau lead you on a fascinating tour by bus of rarely-seen and historic homes based on her book, “So Close From Home: The Legacy of Brownsboro Road.”  The tour will take place Sunday, September 23rd from 12:00-4:00 p.m.

Starting at Historic Locust Grove where you leave your car and board the bus, Mrs. Renau will narrate the tour as we head immediately to this year’s Bellarmine Showcase House, the 1857 Richard Simeon Herr House, where we have the privilege of viewing the inside and enjoying lunch at the cafe.

We will also be able to tour the Edwards-Herr house circa 1790.  All in all, twelve homes will be discussed and viewed, such as the Taylor-Herr house, Springfield, Spring Forest, Mycropylla, and others.

All for $40 a person ($35 for friends of Locust Grove), which includes a personal tour by Lynn Renau in an air-conditioned bus, and admission to the Bellarmine Showcase House.  Lunch in the cafe is optional, at your expense.

Reservations must be made in advance and there are a limited number of seats available.  Reservations can be made by: calling Locust Grove at 897-9845, and requesting reservation form and lunch menu be mailed; or by going to the Locust Grove website at www.locustgrove.org and downloading the reservation form and lunch menu, or by coming to Locust Grove to personally pick up the forms.
