The Friends of the Waterfront (FOTW), a non-profit auxiliary arm of the Waterfront Development Corporation, will host their 16th annual Silver 
Anchor Awards Celebration on Thursday, September 27th at the RiverPark Place Sales Center, 1250 River Road. FOTW will honor Poe Companies for their $200 million investment in RiverPark Place, the largest residential development in the Waterfront district. The development is a key component in continuing Louisville’s Waterfront revitalization. The RiverPark Place Sales Center features residential models built to scale and furnished. Guests can tour each unit and experience the life-sized views of Waterfront Park that will be available from the development when completed.
“Steve Poe certainly deserves this honor,” said Mayor Jerry Abramson. “He is helping transform Waterfront Park into a neighborhood.”
RiverPark Place is a 42-acre residential neighborhood that will feature 621 lofts and townhouses at price points ranging from $139,000 to $1.5 million. The development also contains a marina with 150 boat slips and commercial space that will include restaurants, retail shops, a fitness center and office space. RiverPark Place is located on the Ohio River between Louisville Waterfront Park to the east, Beargrass Creek & Eva Bandman Park to the west, and Towhead Island to the north.

The Silver Anchor Awards reception will feature a cocktail buffet and a silent auction. The event begins at 5:30 p.m. and features music by the Todd Hildreth Trio; “Scenes of Louisville,” an exhibit of original artwork by David Schuster; hors d’oeuvres; cocktails and BBC Beer; and a silent auction. The awards ceremony will begin at 6:15 p.m. Tickets are $75 ($50 of the ticket price is tax deductible), and proceeds benefit Friends of the Waterfront programs. Tickets are available to the public.
