Chronologically speaking the closings of Park Place and Browning’s were, I think, the first major hits to the Louisville restaurant scene post “economic bailout.” Things were quiet for a couple weeks but with the closing of Seviche’s second location we’ve now taken another big hit. I won’t discount the possibility that Seviche Goose Creek was vulnerable because of location (a bit further out in the suburbs, not terribly close to an interstate exit, etc.) but there’s no question the state of the economy was the deciding factor.

I think this drives home the point I’ve been making recently that we’ve got to literally put our money where our mouth is, we’ve got to spend money with the restaurants that feed us so well. The original Seviche in the Highlands is still open and will probably benefit from the closing of the second location so if you’re a fan of Seviche make the time to stop by sometime soon. If you’ve never tried Seviche well then there’s no time like the present.
