On April 10, 2012 Seluah will be releasing their new album Red Parole on digital and limited edition 180-gram LP from Karate Body Records.  The band members are Andrew Killmeier: guitars, Matt Johnson: guitars, Andrew Peace: bass, and Edward Grimes: drums and vocals.  One way to describe this band's sound is trippy, trance rock.

The first song on the album "We May Never Make it Home" starts with a spacey guitar riff pattern. A few bars later the vocals, bass guitar, and drums kick in.  Christian Frederickson and Rachel Grimes on viola and vocal really help add to the ambient atmosphere with their subtle melodies.  The vocals glide over the instrumentation without overpowering the music.  You can hear Track 2: "Other Side of the Gun" on Soundcloud

The album as a whole is very ambient and each song has its own story.  Though there are elements of folk, blues, easygoing rock, fuzz rock, and electronic to be heard throughout, the overall sound defies instant categorization.  If you enjoy music like Monsters of Folk or Phoenix, than I highly recommend checking out this upcoming album.
