Back in August, we learned that the story of 2009 Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird is being produced into a feature film called Wild Ride

. First things first: the title has been changed to

    50 to 1

. Secondly: there is currently an open casting call for paid extras. Yes: paid.

Shooting with extras will take place this month on the 12th and 13th, and the 16th through 18th. Extras are not required to be available all of these days – part of the application process includes indicating availability. Rates are $8.00 per hour for the first eight hours of shooting each day, $12.00 for “overtime.”

I'm a little late in getting this information out to interested parties, and for that I apologize – casting is ongoing, but prospective participants have until tomorrow to apply. To do so, got to Heyman Talent at 1205 E. Washington Street, suite 107. Application is open today until 5:00 and tomorrow, Tuesday, from 10:00 am To 3:00 pm. Queries can be sent to minethatbirdbackground@gmail.com.

    About Allan Day

There are legitimate theories that the Big Bang originated from the collapse of a black hole in a fourth-dimensional universe. This stuff fascinates me, and I love reading about it. I love reading about science. And about anything, for that matter, provided it's interesting - and everything is potentially interesting, so I'm fascinated by a lot of things. I also read a lot of fiction (Kurt Vonnegut deserves deification) and watch a lot of movies (Charlie Chaplin also deserves deification). I've made a few short films myself. I'm also a writer of everything - I'm close to a Bachelor's in English at IUS. My life consists of reading, writing, bartending, and taking care of my daughter full-time. Life is busy and life is stressful, but that's why there's music and art and other forms of relaxation.
