In celebration of the Louisville Zoo’s first baby elephant, Scotty, the Zoo is hosting “Scotty Days” Aug. 11-12.
The first 500 families through the admission gates on Aug. 11 and 12 will receive a FREE “Scotty” poster. The 16x20 frame-ready poster, presented by Norton Healthcare, features a breathtaking photo of the Louisville Zoo’s baby elephant Scotty beneath mom Mikki. The photo was taken by Nick Bonura of Bonura Photography, and the poster was designed by Alexander Hughes Advertising and Marketing, Inc.
Upon entering the Zoo each day (gates open at 10 a.m.), the first 500 families will receive a voucher for the FREE poster and can redeem it between noon and 4 p.m. at the designated table at the Zoo’s front exit.
Also as part of “Scotty Days,” all visitors to the Zoo on Aug. 11 and 12 with the first name Scott or Scotty can enter the Zoo for just $5. Guests must show an ID at the ticket window and mention the discount before paying.
Scotty was born March 18 at 8:45 p.m. He weighed 285 pounds and was 37.5 inches tall. He is currently 41 inches tall and weighs more than 530 pounds. Scotty and mom Mikki are on exhibit daily from 10 a.m. to noon and 2 to 4 p.m. For more information on Scotty or other animals at the Zoo, visit www.louisvillezoo.org.
The FREE poster is sponsored by Norton Healthcare with additional support by Nick Bonura Photography, Alexander Hughes Advertising and Marketing, Inc. and USA Print Brokers, Inc.
