Rodes For Her and Aster Fine Clothing have joined forces by combining their resources to create the ultimate shopping experience for ladies in the region.

Rodes For Him and For Her is a Louisville-based, privately held company, which has successfully spanned over nine decades offering the very best in men and ladies’ apparel.

The family-owned specialty store offers the finest clothing available in the world for him and for her; including many exclusive, high fashion lines such as Brioni, Oxxford, Ermenegildo Zegna, Canali, Loro Piana, Hickey-Freeman, Hart Schaffner & Marx, Robert Talbott, Burberrys and many more at Rodes For Him.

located at 3934 Chenoweth Square offering the finest in ladies’ contemporary clothing, sportswear and accessories.  Aster has been owned and operated by McCall Branch-Brown and Betsy Branch-Garrard for 3 years at their current location.  Aster’s lease at Chenoweth Square expires in April and will not be renewed. Aster’s 3 employees have all been offered positions as Clothing Consultants at Rodes For Her.

“We are very excited about the move into the Rodes For Her location,” said Betsy Garrard, former owner of Aster.  “Combining our apparel lines and customer base with Rodes’ facilities and professional alterations is a ‘win, win’ for everyone, especially our clients.”

Aster Fine Clothing is liquidating its current inventory during a “Moving Sale”, which features 50% to 70% off their entire stock through February 12th.  The merger will be official, and Aster will close its doors, on Monday, February 14, 2005.

The merger will add additional “bridge” and accessory lines, such as Trina Turk, TIBI, Nanette Lepore, Jungal, Christopher Blue, Woo, FINS, Orla Keily Accessories and many others to Rodes For Her’s current offering.

Rodes has grown the ladies’ apparel section of their business to nearly 50% of their total volume since opening at the new location less than 2 years ago.

“We continue to refine our ladies’ fashion lines to bring exclusive collections to Louisville and the region.” says Susan Vogt, Vice President and Ladies Wear Buyer, “We are thrilled to create a contemporary department to “bridge” all generations of apparel.”

Rodes For Her currently carries such quality couture/designer collections as St. John, Armani Collezioni (exclusive), Ron Leal, Rena Lange, Max Mara, Etro, and such bridge lines as Zanella, Lafayette 148, Geiger of Austria, and others.

The merger also provides Rodes experienced, energetic sales consultants who are familiar with Aster’s contemporary fashion lines and have their own customer base.

Rodes relocated its 90-year-old clothing store to its current 12,000 sq. ft. retail space at “The Rodes Building” on Rt. 22 (Old Brownsboro Rd. across from Holiday Manor) in April 2003. The already elaborate structure was remodeled to reflect open contiguous space throughout, and features an opening to the Rodes For Him men’s store on the left of the main lobby entrance and the Rodes For Her women’s store on the right.  Rodes also leases additional space in the building’s basement for their alterations, tailoring and pressing; and on the second level for its operational and buying offices.

Rodes offers elegance and convenience in a casual atmosphere. The stand-alone building is much more convenient for customers with 70 parking spaces right in front of the building.  They also offer a relaxed feeling where customers are always invited to just come in, sit by the flat-screen TV and enjoy some refreshments and friendly conversation. Beautiful landscaping with ornate trees, shrubs, flowers and two unique cascading water gardens offer a very special shopping experience.

Rodes’ continued success is attributed to providing the very best men’s and women’s apparel available in the world and incomparable customer service.  And, by making sure Rodes’ customers are completely satisfied and enjoy their unique shopping experience so that they want to shop here in Louisville rather than other major cities, such as New York or Chicago.

“Rodes could not be more excited to add Aster’s collection of some of the “hottest” ladies’ fashion lines in the industry worldwide, to Rodes For Her.” Said Howard Vogt, Rodes President, “Our customers said they wanted one place to shop for their entire wardrobe and that’s what we have given them.”
