Primary sources fascinate students because they are “hands-on, minds-on” learning opportunities that transport them to another time and place. They can be integrated across all grade levels and curricula, while providing the opportunity for students to use their observation and critical thinking skills. The workshop focuses on ways to integrate primary sources into your lesson plans and techniques for using local museums as a resource. You will enjoy a live performance by one of the Frazier Museum’s historical interpreters and learn how they use primary sources in the development of their scripts. In addition, we will visit the temporary exhibit “Water Works: 150 Years of Louisville Water Company." A light breakfast will be provided.
