Main Line Broadcasting's Louisville cluster announced today its Station Showcase, a promotional event on October 9th from 11:30 A.M. to 6 P.M. in Fourth Street Live, designed to both show appreciation for listeners and give potential advertisers a first-hand look at the mass appeal of live, local radio. As local and national trends point to nationally syndicated shows, Main Line reminds the city that live, local radio still plays a major roll in our daily lives, and is still a good bet for advertisers.
"A lot of businesses are stumped right now as to how to attract new business, or they're wondering if advertising is a wise investment, if it's affordable at all," says Doug James, director of Sales at Main Line Louisville. "The Station Showcase just gives us a way to say, 'Come check us out, ask questions, see what Main Line is about and what it can do for
your business.' And doing it out at 4th Street Live puts the event in a fun atmosphere and makes it accessible to both advertisers and listeners."
Listeners will enjoy interacting with all of Main Line's local on-air personalities as they broadcast live from the event. "Live, local radio is all about serving the community," notes George Lindsey of the Lambert and Lindsey Morning Show. "Our listeners give us that bond, and we love getting out and meeting them. It's our way of giving back to listeners to who are so loyal to us." All Main Line Louisville radio stations are active in supporting community and charity organizations through fundraisers and other events.
Station vehicles will also be on display at the Station Showcase, and all those in attendance will be able to play games and win station merchandise and other prizes. Several restaurants in Fourth Street Live will also provide free food samples.
The Main Line Broadcasting Louisville cluster is composed of six properties:
99.7 WDJX (Top 40), 96.5 WGZB (Hip Hop and R&B), 101.3 WMJM (Urban Adult
Contemporary), 102.3 WXMA (Hot Adult Contemporary), 105.1 WLRS (Rock), and
The Weather Watch Network. Heritage stations WDJX and WGZB have been on the
air in Louisville for over 20 years.
