Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 19, for the 13th annual Great Gatsby Gala, which will be held for the first time in the Grand Ballroom of the Galt House East.
Carla Whaley is chairing the event this year. Her co-chairs are Cindy Wise, Patty Guist, Debbie Quill and Sug Schusterman.
For 88 years the Louisville Area Chapter of the American Red Cross has provided relief to victims of disasters and helped people prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.
All proceeds raised from the gala will benefit the Red Cross' local disaster relief.
Working on the committee also are Madeline Abramson, Paula Campbell, Carolle Jones-Clay, Shaun Paradis Huber, Maureen Jenner, Pam Klinner, Melanie Langford, Amy Littell, Clarence Mitchell, Kevin Paul, Linda Ryan, Cathy Stephens, Lindy Street, Kim Tharp-Barrie and Lou Ellen Williams.
There will be cocktails at 6 p.m. along with its usual spectacular silent auction. Dinner is at 7:30, and it will be delicious because the Galt House always serves a delicious banquet.
Following that, there will a short live auction with luxurious offerings, and then you can dance the night away to the music of The Monarchs.
Tickets are $250 per person and they are already three-quarters sold out.
