Unveils Spectacular Hubble Telescope Image of the Orion Nebula

The Rauch Planetarium is participating in the national unveiling of a breathtaking, mural-sized image of the Great Orion Nebula, a turbulent region of star formation seen in exquisite and unprecedented detail by NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope. The unveiling will take place on January 11th at 11:00 AM.

The 4-foot-by-4-foot picture, an immense seamless mosaic of 104 Hubble images, reveals a tapestry of star formation with features never before seen. It is one of the largest and most magnificent images ever taken by the Hubble telescope.

Students from St. Matthews Elementary School will unveil the images at 11 AM.
