The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft will host an opening reception for three new exhibits on Friday, October 22nd from 5-8pm. The opening is free and open to the public, and will include hors d'oeuvres, a cash bar, and a hands-on art activity.
The new exhibits are:
“Planes, Trains and Superheroes” - featuring more than 100 games, gadgets and toys that have inspired childhood imagination for decades. Guests will see all the classics, from pedal cars and tin toys to vintage games, action figures and trains.
“Rooted in Place” - an exhibition being held in honor of the 15th Annual Festival of Faiths, themed Sacred Soil: Foundation of Life. The exhibit will feature the work of artists who have a strong connection to a particular place in time through the work that they produce.
“Healing Creatively” - showcasing artistic expressions created by children, families and staff at Kosair Children’s Hospital using a wide range of media. This exhibit explores how creating art helps heal children in the medical setting and is made possible by the expressive therapy program at Kosair Children’s Hospital.
