The Oldham County Parks and Recreation invites everybody to join us in support of the Oldham County Teddy Bear Tree at Wendell Moore Park.
The Oldham County Parks and Recreation Department is hosting the 2nd annual Holiday 2 Mile Walk on Saturday, December 13th, at Wendell Moore Park. The walk will begin at 9:00 a.m. in front of the John W. Black Community Center.
Deadline for early registration is November 21st, at 12:00 p.m. Pre-Registration guarantees a event shirt. Registration will be accepted by mail, in person, or over the phone by credit card (a $3 convenience fee is added). The registration flyer will be available at the John W. Black Community Center, online at www.oldhamcounty.net or by fax upon request. The cost of the 2 mile walk is $10.00 plus a new unwrapped toy or $15.00 without a toy. All pre-registered participants will receive an event T-shirt, late registered participants will receive shirts while supplies last. Donations will be accepted at the John W. Black Community Center.
All proceeds and toys will be donated to the Teddy Bear Tree in Oldham County. Last year $265.00 and two large boxes of toys were donated.
The Teddy Bear Tree program is organized by Tri-County Community Action Agency in Oldham County. It raises money and toys for needy children in Oldham County.
Wendell Moore Park is located at: 1551 North Highway 393. From I-71 take exit 17, Hwy 146 to Buckner. Go left on 146 and go to the stop light. At the stop light turn left onto Hwy 393. The park is located on the right side of the road about .25 miles from stop light.
