Sullivan University is proud to announce the official opening of the first College of Pharmacy in 50 years in Kentucky. A dedication ceremony for the new College of Pharmacy building will take place on Friday, October 24, 10 a.m. at the campus facility located at 2100 Gardiner Lane in Louisville, KY.

“Our inaugural class of 74 Doctor of Pharmacy students started in July and we are very pleased to see that the composition of the class is very diverse,” said Dr. Hieu T. Tran, Founding Dean for the new Sullivan University College of Pharmacy. “Of the 74 students, 39 are from Kentucky, eight are from Indiana and 27 are from 11 other states. “We are also very indebted to our colleagues in the pharmacy and medical community for their wonderful support in this education endeavor. I know the students are excited to start their second term in this beautiful multi-million dollar facility designed to meet the needs of today’s modern pharmacy education.”

Sullivan University’s College of Pharmacy offers students a unique prescription for success with an accelerated curriculum that establishes the foundation for a career in the health care system in three years of professional training instead of the traditional four academic calendar years.

After a national search, Dr. Tran was appointed to lead the new Sullivan University College of Pharmacy in October of 2006. Dr. Tran has led the effort to establish the program and assembled a select group of qualified administrators and faculty. The American Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), has granted Pre-candidate status accreditation and approved the first class to begin.
