Experience excellent Chilean cooking and wine this summer at The Oakroom’s Chilean Wine Dinner. Held on Tuesday, August 24, the evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with a reception in the Ante Room followed by a four-course dinner featuring wines from three outstanding Chilean wineries: Chono, Rayun and Cucaco. Each of the wines highlighted at the dinner will be paired with a traditional Chilean dish creatively interpreted by chef Jim Gerhardt and chef de cuisine Bobby Benjamin. In attendance will be Sergio Reyes, the partner of famous winemaker Alvaro Espinoza, who will discuss with guests each of the wines and introduce 2009 Cucao PX– a new wine soon to be available in Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. Both Reyes and David DuBou of Vintner Select will be available throughout the evening to answer any questions about the wines. The cost is $55 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Reservations are required. To reserve your table, please call Julie DeFriend at 502-643-0046.

About Alvaro Espinoza and Sergio Reyes
As a prominent wine consultant in Chile, Espinoza has been involved with many successful projects, including the introduction of biodynamic organic viticulture to the country of Chile. In 1994, he was also one of the first in Chile to distinguish Merlot from Carmenère, as the two varieties had long been confused in the vineyards. Aside from his work as a consultant in South and North America, Espinoza has partnered with Sergio Reyes to create the Chono, Rayun and Cucao wines. The focus of these projects is to express the uniqueness of the individual wines regions that surround and lie north of Santiago. For more information, visit http://www.geowines.cl.
