The Oakroom is pleased to announce that it will be hosting Jim Donato of Rodney Strong Vineyards for a very special wine dinner on Thursday, March 30. Rodney Strong Vineyards is known throughout the world for its unique estate-bottled and vineyard-designated Sonoma County wines. The cost of the dinner is $115 per person, including tax and gratuity.
Mr. Donato will be presenting a selection of five wines to compliment Executive Chef Todd Richard's exquisite five-course menu to include Smoked Salmon with pineapple mascarpone; Roasted Scallop with warm chicken leek ravioli and chestnut salad served with mozzarella and preserved artichoke; Wasabi Pea Dusted Tuna accompanied by Unagi Fried Rice, duck spring roll, horseradish cauliflower puree and a Pinot sweet & sour sauce; South African Lobster Tail with short rib and salt cod risotto in a Red Wine Chai Emulsion and a Trifecta Tasting of Beef--veal cheek ravioli, oxtail hash and beef tenderloin served with poached Quail egg, blackberry reduction and arugula Pesto.
Rodney Strong Vineyards was founded in 1959 by Rodney Strong, one of the pioneers of the modern wine industry in California and Sonoma County. After changes in ownership and direction during the 1970's and 1980's, Rodney Strong Vineyards was acquired by the Klein Family Vintners in 1989, a family-owned farming-based business, and returned to its vineyard roots. Winemaker Rick Sayre joined Rodney Strong Vineyards in 1979 and, as a practitioner of handcrafted wines, is involved in all aspects of winemaking from vineyard management through final blending. Since his arrival, Sayre has been instrumental in making the Winery Estate known throughout the world.
Rodney Strong's Jim Donato will be on hand to entertain and educate guests about the wine selections and pairings.
Reception begins at 6:30 p.m.
