The Bakery at Sullivan University, 3100 Bardstown Road, received one of 20 Achievement of Excellence Awards from the American Culinary Federation for its commitment to excellence in operating a pastry shop or bakery. The Bakery was the only pastry shop or bakery in the country so recognized (only two can win the award in any given year). The other 18 winners came from eight other categories, from establishments offering casual dining to restaurants on cruise ships. The American Culinary Federation is a 75-year-old professional, not-for-profit organization for chefs and cooks that promotes the professional image of American chefs worldwide.
