If there’s a recipe for a fun, family-focused fall tradition, the 22nd annual Rising Sun Navy Bean Fall Festival has it. This year’s festival is Friday, October 9, 5:30-9:30 p.m., and Saturday, October 10, 10:30 a.m.-10:00 p.m., in downtown Rising Sun and Riverfront Park. There is no admission charge for the festival and parking is free.
This annual fall event draws families from throughout the Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky region to enjoy the rides, games, booths, food, and free entertainment including the Kentucky Headhunters and Rob Grill and The Grassroots. The highlight of the weekend is always the homemade navy bean soup served with cornbread in the navy bean soup tent on the riverbank.
