MUSLIM JOURNAL’S 7TH ANNUAL 3-DAY FASHION SHOW/EVENT TO HONOR MUHAMMAD ALI The Celebration of Believing Women Interfaith Fashion Show is part of the Muslim Journal’s 7th Annual “A Time to be Grateful” Dinner and awards weekend of events being held in Louisville KY, Dec. 17th-19th, 2010, at the Galt House Hotel. Native son Muhammad Ali as well as the Muhammad Ali Center will be honored. In addition, the Awards Ceremony will honor Olympian Carl Lewis, the Honorable Lawrence Jackson of Southern University, Dr. IbrahIm Syed, Ph.D., Congressman John Yarmuth, DAAKHS Entertainment, Imam Plemon El-Amin, founder of World Pilgrims and others. Yank Barry, chairman of Global Village Champions Foundation and Gusi Peace Prize Awardee, will be the keynote speaker. As part of this powerful and positive weekend, the fashion show will bring together women from all faiths and designers from the United States, Malaysia, and the United Arab Emirates. The featured designer for the Fashion Show, Rabia Z, has been featured In Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Time magazine, Elle as well as broadcast media giants ABC, CBS, NBC, The BBC and many more. She has showcased her designs at London fashion Week and Miami fashion Week. Mrs. Kentucky and dozens of models from Louisville will represent the city’s interfaith and intercultural relationships as well as experienced volunteer models from across the United States who will travel to Louisville to be a part of this noteworthy occasion. The fashion show is being managed and coordinated by a team with over 30 years of experience in management and coordination and 35 years of experience managing and coordinating fashion shows for modest women. In addition to the fashion show and awards dinner, “A Time to be Grateful” weekend activities include a dynamic presentation on Saturday by Iqraa Amerika about “what is influencing your child during sleep,” tours of the Muhammad Ali Center, and a jazz Concert featuring renowned jazz pianist Ghalib Ghallab. On Sunday the 19th the highlight of the day will be the play about the American civil rights activist, Rosa Parks, “A Rose Among Thorns” created and performed by star of stage and screen Ella Joyce.
