A MEMORIAL CONCERT FOR JOHN ALBRECHT
John Albrecht, who recently passed away in Louisville, was a master trombonist and beloved teacher to many. Most of Louisville’s trombone players were influenced or taught by John.
Herb Bruce, ( student of Mr. Albrecht and a master trombonist himself ), now of Sarasota, Florida, will stage a Memorial Concert for John Albrecht on Tuesday night, September 30th at the Comedy Caravan at 7:30pm. The first half of the concert will feature The Herb Bruce Quartet with the quartet being joined in the second half by many Louisville trombonists and any other jazz cats that may want to sit on the jam. Herb says, “I hate to call it a Memorial Concert, but that’s what it is, and it will be "way-happening" I can assure everyone.”
Tom Sobel is making the Comedy Caravan available for the evening and Terry Armstrong of Front Row Promotions is handling details. Admission to the Memorial is free but those wishing may make a remembrance to the Albrecht Family at the door.
