Announcing a FREE Rite of Passage Retreat for Young Women (our maidens) on Feb. 20, 2010 at Black Acre Nature Preserve in Louisville, Ky.

This half-day retreat for girls and their mothers is an empowerment retreat to celebrate the women that each young lady is becoming.

Funded by a Kentucky Foundation for Women Art Meets Activism grant, the Maiden Rite of Passage will recognize the important time of physical and emotional changes that young women are experiencing and bless their way into womanhood with a supporting, loving, and nurturing experience.

Through storytelling, sharing, and art, a group of girls will be welcomed into womanhood.

Participating young women will be accompanied by their mother, grandmother, and/or support person.
