Employing multiple layers of translucent glazes, Madison Cawein delivers finely detailed imagery of his environment and experiences. Though his work is painted with a technical skill usually associated with photo-realism, his imagery often provokes a sense of warmth and intimate connection that the photorealistic genre often lacks.
Madison Cawein, formerly of Louisville, Kentucky, currently resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Madison is an alumnus of Harvard University and the California Institute of the Arts and has exhibited widely, including at the Speed Art Museum. His work can be found in such notable corporate collections as MCA Records, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and the Brown-Forman Corporation, among others.
