In celebration of Women's History Month and our current exhibition of works by artists in the women's sculpture group, ENID, Ewing Fahey, one of the founding members of the group, will share the life story of Enid Yandell. Enid Yandell (1869-1924) was the first recognized female sculptor in Kentucky. In 1998 a small group of female sculptors in Louisville came together to provide support for each other and took on the name of ENID for their collective. Over the years the group has grown and evolved and their mission is this: to encourage, educate and mentor women artists, students and each other, as well as to promote the careers of their members. The current membership includes 16 women (including 10 original) from age 38 to 88. Bring your own lunch, drinks are provided. Registration is required (812-944-7336). Sponsored by the Carnegie Center, Inc.
