    • "Sen. Rand Paul, R-KY, has blocked an extension of healthcare benefits to elderly and disabled refugees that has received bi-partisan support before. 'A population of people that could really be hurting is being denied a benefit because of what may be an unrelated concern,' said Rich Seckel with Kentucky Equal Justice Center." [WFPL]
    • "Indiana officials still expect the Sherman Minton Bridge repairs to take about six months, but documents provided to contractors anticipate the job could take as much as three months longer. The bid requirements were updated this week to list the completion date as mid-July 2012 — as opposed to a reopening of around next April that officials announced last week." [Courier-Journal]
    • "The University of Louisville’s Tom Jurich is one of the highest-paid college athletic directors in the country, according to a survey by USA Today. Jurich, who has been at U of L since 1997, is guaranteed more than $1.4 million for the 2011-12 fiscal year, with the possibility of more through incentive-based bonuses. Only Vanderbilt’s David Williams ($2.5 million) and Florida’s Jeremy Foley ($1.5 million) are paid more, USA Today said, and Foley’s figure includes a retention bonus payment." [Courier-Journal]
