- "The former leader of the Archdiocese of Louisville has died. Archbishop Thomas C. Kelly retired in 2007 after 25 years leading the Archdiocese. Kelly joined the Dominican order sixty years ago and was ordained in 1958. - "Strike the Gold, the 1991 Kentucky Derby winner, was euthanized Tuesday at Karacabey Stud Farm in Turkey. Bloodhorse.com said the death was confirmed by the Turkish Jockey Club. With Strike the Gold’s death, the oldest living Derby winner is 21-year-old Sea Hero, the 1993 Kentucky Derby winner who also has been standing in stud in Turkey." [Courier-Journal]
