Laura Lorson, a Louisville native who now lives in Kansas, appeared on last evening's episode of the CBS show, Jeopardy!

Laura Lorson was born and raised here in Louisville, Kentucky. She currently hosts the NPR show "All Things Considered" on KANU in Lawrence, Kansas. She has family who lives here in Louisville, and I personally have a connection with her sister and mother. Laura Lorson is also an honorary Kentucky Colonel, as are each member of her family here in Louisville.  Last night was an entertaining Facebook evening seeing status updates about Laura throughout the evening's episode as she competed against two players named Dave and Alvin.

Some of the trivia questions Laura answered correctly in the first round were:
    1. Q. It's the familiar name of the tremulous American Aspen
    A. What is the Quaking Aspen
    2. Q. Calm Down (unscramble CIHLXAL)
    A. What is Chillax
    3. Q. beans full of protein (unscramble ADEMMAE)
    A. What is Edamame
    4. Our version of a British show "AGT"
    A. What is America's Got Talent
    5. Q. Mardi Gras Day is not only a holiday in Louisiana but in Baldwin and Mobile counties in this state as well
    A. What is Alabama
    6. Q. He walked in space for 5 1/2 hours; 3 years later he was the second man to walk on the moon.
    A. Who is Buzz Aldrin
    7. Time to drop the pounds "TBL"
    A. What is The Biggest Loser

During Double Jeopardy, Laura was able to make up some ground and remained in third place with $11,400. During Final Jeopardy, the question posed was "When the current presidential occupant of the White House was born, this president was living there." Laura answered Lyndon Johnson. She wagered $0.  The other two contestants both wagered money and answered incorrectly (Eisenhower). John F. Kennedy was the correct answer. Her wager of $0 allowed her to keep the lead and win the contest.

Ms. Lorson won last's night's competition, becoming a Jeopardy! champion and securing another chance at competing in tonight's episode on Jeopardy. Tune in to see her as the returning champion and if she advances again! Jeopardy! airs on CBS (Local channel WLKY) at 7:30pm EST.

UPDATE: Laura Lorson won Thursday evening's Jeopardy!, so the two time champion originally from Louisville will be returning to the show again Friday, March 6 at 7:30pm EST on WLKY Louisville, tune in and cheer her on!
