Take an unforgettable ride through Louisville's distinctive industrial past. Butchertown and Smoketown are words we use to describe parts of the city, but what do they mean? These districts and others developed unique architectural identities from the industries they served. The tour will uncover fascinating enclaves of industrial architecture and history that are unique to the river city.
Join us for a driving and walking tour of the most significant industrial sites in Louisville, starting at the historic 1883 building of the American Printing House for the Blind. The bus will leave the APH parking lot at 9 a.m. and return by 1 p.m. with several stops along the way. Tickets cost $25 and include a snack box. Call 899-2365 by March 16 to register. Last year’s tour was filled weeks before the event, so make your reservations early!
